Parma ham, Parmigiano-Reggiano and Fossa cheeses, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, Sangiovese and Lambrusco wines…the list of culinary delights which hail from the Emilia Romagna Region of Italy reads like a foodie’s fantasy shopping list. Not happy with merely eating this wonderful produce, the Italians use them also as an excuse for a party.
Throughout the year, Emilia Romagna Region celebrates the best of the ingredients on their doorstep. From the aromas and ancient surroundings of the White Truffle Fair to the fertile Po valley where the king of cheeses Parmigiano Reggiano is produced, there is an event to suit every taste.

Under a Fellini’s Circus arena, the best selection of Chefs from all over the world meets top class chefs from the finest culinary Region of Emilia Romagna performing a series of cooking shows, events and live events.
Almèni concepts stems from well–known poem written by Tonino Guerra and it embodies everything passionately handmade. The marketplace displays food and wine local premium products, valuable handicrafts and traditional and innovative design labs.
The desire of seeking tastes is recreated in Forlimpopoli – Artusi’s hometown – every second-last Saturday of June for nine consecutive days during the Artusi Celebration. Organized since 1997, it is a way to quench our curiosity to know the details of that domestic place too often left aside because of our everyday hurrying up.
Eavesdropping the words of those ones working among scented vegetables, meats, pans, getting some ideas to surprise our own pleasure to experiment ourselves at the fires. Then, in the magical atmosphere of a town disguised as a cook, catching any perfume to fix it in the memory, finding our past or enriching our future.
The program is vast and the opportunities allow everybody to taste what is the most appreciated by his/her own palate, or to dare trying an unknown morsel: kitchen, music, theatre, dance, tasting, markets, Artusi’s prizes, scientific meeting, there are plenty of choices for everybody!
There is a dream living inside the feast; Artusi’s House, the starting point of our journey and the final aim to reach.
PARMA HAM FESTIVAL
A big event to discover and taste the best Prosciutto di Parma, and to appreciate the cultural and natural beauties of its production places, through a calendar full of events in the name of gastronomy, entertainment and culture.
One of the novelties is that in Langhirano the Parma Ham’s Citadel is set up, an area where 18 PDO producers tell their own story and offer tastings of various ages.
One of the main attractions of the festival is also the “Open Windows” tradition of the ham factories, which offers to visitors a unique chance to discover that Parma Ham is still produced today like two thousand years ago, using only two ingredients: the prized Italian pig leg and a pinch of sea salt.
This year you can find “Finestre Aperte” every weekend of September: 7-8, 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29.
VAL TIDONE WINE FEST

The west valley of Piacenza, crossed by the river Po and protected by flourishing vegetation where imposing castles and fortifications tower above, is the setting of Valtidone Wine Fest 2018. This event takes place in four villages of historical interest (Borgonovo, Ziano, Nibbiano and Pianello) every Sunday of September – the month of the harvest – in order to offer the best of the wine and food tradition of this area.
TASTE OF SALT

Salt, once known as “white gold”, is part of Cervia’s tradition and current economy. Every year the city becomes the scene of the “Taste of Salt” – a rich event where salt is the absolute star of a show made up of exhibitions, meetings, wine and food, science and street markets.
GRAPE AND LAMBRUSCO GRASPAROSSA WINE FESTIVAL
The aim of the festival is to increase the value and maintain the agricultural importance of Castelvetro, whilst celebrating the origins and the characteristics of its most important product: the Lambrusco Grasparossa. This wine is the main theme of all the events that take place in the city centre courtyards and squares during this festival. The representation of peasants’ lives during the harvest, exhibitions, wine tastings and technical meetings are all part of the event.

The eel is the undisputed queen of the Comacchio valleys: prepared, according to the tradition, by the sailors of Comacchio at the food stand in the courtyard of Palazzo Bellini, next to Trepponti, or cooked by local chefs who update ancient recipes. The historic city center, the canals, the Loggia dei Cappuccini and the Manifattura dei Marinati will be the scenery for gastronomic itineraries, stands, events and the market of antiques and curios.
WHITE TRUFFLE NATIONAL TRADE FAIR

The White Truffle Fair of Sant’Agata Feltria welcomes large crowds every year. The city itself is a medieval town and has earned itself the nickname, Truffle City. Alongside the numerous gourmet truffle delights and other local products such as mushrooms and chestnuts, there are also cultural exhibits, arts performances and plenty of entertainment! Mushrooms, chestnuts, honey herbs and products of sheep farming.
TARTUFESTA WHITE TRUFFLE TRADE FAIR

The little villages scattered on the gentle hills surrounding Bologna come to a new life every October when the numerous truffle delights and other local products such as mushrooms and chestnuts are exhibited during the trade fairs taking place in their streets and squares every Sunday in October and November. In this time of the year attendees will enjoy all kind of truffle-based recipes in the local restaurants and Agriturismi registered to the event.
IL PESCE FA FESTA

This annual celebration in the town of Cesenatico is the perfect destination to enjoy gourmet fish from the local fishermen. The festival also showcases local wine of the area and diners come from all over Italy to taste this town’s gourmet delights. The festival program includes a market exhibition with 80 open-air stalls along the unique Leonardo’s Canal Port and tasting stations of baked and grilled fish in the town center. A huge restaurant is also open for the entire duration of the festival, with a wide range of traditional fish recipes prepared by the chefs of the Association of Restaurateurs of Cesenatico.

Every weekend of November, in the land of Verdi and Guareschi, the greediest salami competition of Italy will take place in four different towns: the biggest Mariolone (in Sissa), the heaviest Prete (in Polesine Parmense), the longest Strolghino (in Zibello), the biggest Chocolate (in Roccabianca). Along with PDO Culatello di Zibello Salami, the Culatello di Zibello Route offers a table laid with typical flavors of Parma.
SAGRA DEL FORMAGGIO DI FOSSA

The pits where the cheese is kept to mature are dug into the sandstone and valued like priceless diamonds: cleaned, renovated and lined with appropriate materials. The cheese is put underground in August, and is recovered in late autumn. So in November (second and third weekend) the little town of Talamello celebrates the Sagra del Formaggio di Fossa “Ambra di Talamello” (food fair of pit cheese), together with a series of other typical products that are either from this region or from various places in Italy.
OLIVE TREE AND OLIVE OIL FESTIVAL
The olive tree growing in Brisighella has ancient origins: already at the time of the Roman, its products were well-known and appreciated. The traditional festival takes place in this charming medieval village to celebrate the refined local extra-virgin olive oils, awarded with the PDO label. During the festival visitors can enjoy music entertainment, find stands and market which sell typical products and buy the precious oil directly from its producers.
