20 cook books, Rick Stein’s autobiography, and over 30 BBC food programmes later Emilia-Romagna has the honor to host this British celebrity chef, restaurateur and television presenter as Rick Stein and his TV film crew filmed throughout Bologna, the capital of Northern Italy’s Emilia-Romagna Region.

Rick wandered throughout Bologna’s streets in search of excellent regional food and wine while filming the 5th episode of BBC’s “Long Weekends” TV program.
Viewers will be able to watch Rick learns how to make fresh egg tortellini from scratch , tagliatelle, ravioli and lasagna. Not to mention rabbit stuffed with Parma ham and a parmesan frittata with ingredients found near the university’s Archiginnasio building.
While at the Mercato delle Erbe, Rick visits a fish stall and café to try squid stuffed with mashed potato and capers. He also discovered Emilia-Romagna’s famous mostarda Bolognese, a jam made of quinces and plums served with Crescentina bread originating from the Apennines.
