#myER_KitchenStories: the intimacy of taste in EmiliaRomagna
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
After the August break, this week restarts the series of our thematic contest on Instagram: the upcoming contest, which officially starts on Friday September 5th, is dedicated to the tales and memories of your kitchens: #myER_KitchenStories 🙂
Surely everyone has a lot of stories about the tasty dishes of our tables, stories that should be told and shared. From the legends on how a food is born to the personal reinterpretations of the recipes, from the secret ingredients handed down by the grandma to the mastery of actions learned by perseverance, from the people on the job in the kitchen to the tales and memories that go together with family’s lunches.
After the last October’s contest #myER_Taste, focused on the recipes of the EmiliaRomagna’s tradition with all its DOP and IGP excellences (to which you took part with more than 600 photos), now we reintroduce a new photographic challenge about gastronomy with the aim of highlighting the most private and friendly dimension of the regional culinary world: the intimacy of taste!
As an exception this theme will go along with us for two months: so you have time until Monday 20th October at midnight to tag with #myER_KitchenStories your theme photos (also shot before), specifying the place and the subject of the photo. On Tuesday 21st October, as usually, the 20 finalist photos will be selected and then you can start voting publicly until Friday 31st October for the winner photo. To be won for the winner an exceptional dinner for two in one of the starry restaurants of the EmiliaRomagna!
As usually, the contest goes along with some photographic events offline, in which we could meet – with our smartphones and reflex in the hands – and take theme photos.
The first event takes place at Fellini’s square in Rimini on Friday 5th September at 16.30 on the occasion of the Final of the Gelato World Tour. Together with Carpigiani we’ll visit the stands of the village discovering the works of 24 finalist ice-cream masters and admiring them on the job making them describe their unknown likings. So we could take part to the election of what will become the best taste of ice-cream of the world. Here you can register at the Eventbride “Tell and Taste”.
On Saturday 21st September in the afternoon we’ll be in Parma, where this weekend starts the Festival of the Ham. We’ll spend the day among the vineyards of the castle of Torrechiara tasting wine and typical food of the place, in particular the ham and its derived. We’ll have the possibility to try some little wine tastings in tree cellars that take part to the event “Prosciutto in Vigna”.
On Sunday 21st September morning we’ll be in Castelfranco Emilia (MO) for a cooking class dedicated to the traditional Tortellino. The Osteria della Cavazzona (Via Emilia Est 157) will host us at 10.30 for a hands-on demonstration about how the tortellini are made: from the puff pastry to the filling and the locking technique of the little dough. Thereafter will be our turn to put ourselves to test and make our own tortellini. The all occasion goes along with the tales and the conviviality of our host, Marco, who will honor us with a little taste of fried dumpling with Lambrusco. Free registration here!
In October, date not yet defined, a new InstaTER in collaboration with RiminiStreetFood will bring us straight to Rimini for a tour of the kitchens of two of the historical piadina’s cooks of the place, the Casina del Bosco and La Lella, where we’ll have a cooking class to learn how to make a piadina.
But that isn’t all. For October we have in the pipeline also a new project about the world of the tales and the regional gastronomy. For now we only tell you that it is called “A Pranzo con TER”…continue following for all the updates. 🙂
