Christmas between Italy’s most beautiful Fortresses and Villages

The 2017 has been named as the year of the Villages in Italy and Emilia-Romagna offers you the opportunity to discover them many days ahead of time: here 6 places full of history, culture and traditions, and embellished by the Christmas atmosphere, some already inserted between the most authentic destinations according to “The most beautiful Villages in Italy” review. Starting this weekend untill firsts days of January, so you’ll have time to organize.

RIMINI | Sant’Agata di Feltria 

This is an important event for all those who love Christmas markets. There is an enchanting atmosphere as the streets of the mediaeval village are filled whit the traditional sounds of bagpipes and there are handcrafted cribs on display on the oldest street. On the market square, visitors find Father Christmas house and his elves organize lots of events for children.

Around this magical house there are two reindeer that pull a sleigh driven by a real Laplander. The restaurants serve food from a menu called “Advent Dishes”, prepared following local Christmas traditions and customs.

RIMINI |  San Leo

A calendar full of events for the whole family the opportunity to visit the small village of San Leo listed between “The Most Beautiful Villages d’Italia”, you can taste traditional dishes and local products of Montefeltro choosing from delicious proposals. Every day of the Christmas festivities, also will can visit the Fortress and the Museum of the village.

Set in the Romagna’s hills, not far from the Adriatic Riviera, Longiano is famous for the manifestation of the Nativity, both traditional and reinterpreted in artistic key. The highlight of the event is the Great Nativity Mechanic of the Sanctuary of Ss. Crocifisso, finally, if you are over there, go to see the floating “Nativity of the Navy” in Cesenatico.

RAVENNA | Brisighella

Sunday, Dec 18 in Brisighella, the medieval village glows with tiny lights that amplify the Christmas atmosphere that permeates it, inviting to stroll among sweets, games, animations and sleigh ride free for all.
