Wine Food Festival Emilia Romagna: what’s going on this week?

Nicholas Montemaggi September 28, 2010

Here we are again, and as last week we present you this week’s (27 Sept. – 3 Oct.) Wine Food Festival main events.

In Bologna it’s T-day , “Tortellino Day”, this week! Four days entirely dedicated to the tortellino, unfailing protagonist of the Bolognese cuisine, that will be welcoming every-one who is curious to discover the city in its multiple facets. Among artistic itineraries and special menus, through the “Sfoglino d’Oro”, a day dedicated to fun and good food.

Here you will find the entire programm of the four days.

In Bondeno (province of Ferrara) will take place the 9th edition of the “Panarea Bread Festival” dedicated to the Coppia Ferrarese Bread PGI (Protected Geographical Indication).

Again in the province of Ferrara, but this time on the sea, in Comacchio will take place the Eel Festival, the undisputed queen of the Comacchio valleys: prepared, according to the tradition, by the sailors of Comacchio at the food stand in the courtyard of Palazzo Bellini, next to Trepponti, or cooked by local chefs who update ancient recipes. The historic city centre, the canals, the Loggia dei Cappuccini and the Manifattura dei Marinati will be the scenery for gastronomic itineraries, stands, events and the market of antiques and curios.

During the weekend in the village of Spilamberto (province of Modena) it’s time for Showcase, Motors and Balsamic Flavours: the streets of the village are filled with the aromas of boiling must. From Friday 1st to Monday 4th of October.

In Sant’Agata Feltria (province of Rimini), known as the  “truffle village”, begins the 26th edition of the White Truffel National Trade Fair that attracts many admirers (about 100,0000) of the delicious and fragrant white truffle. Thousands of visitors, mesmerised by the charm of truffle, will find again this year, together with the famous tuber, all the typical seasonal products offered by this generous land located in the Apennines area: mushrooms, chestnuts, honey, medicinal herbs, agricultural and dairy products, as well as handmade products made by rural and artistic craft.

Last but not least, Mortadella Please in Zola Predosa (province of Bologna): a Festival dedicated to Mortadella, a product of extraordinary quality and culinary excellence recognised all over the world.

That’s all folks for this Wine Food Festival week!

Buon appetito”! =)
