If you are staying in Rimini in Autumn you will never get bored. After the great events of the summer, the city proposes concerts, guided tours, exhibitions, wellness, expos and congress, festivals and markets. As an example on the 20th anniversary of the death of Maestro Fellini The dreams book, “Il libro dei sogni” is on show at the City Museum.
The book contains the two original albums in which Fellini drew and sketched, from the early sixties to 1990, his dreams, figures, scenaries and circumstances which can be found in his films. With this exhibition, Fellini’s overwhelming imagination finally emerges from the darkness in a special area of the City museum along with other precious treasures linked to the collective memory and the identity of Rimini.
The exhibition of the Book opens a series of events dedicated to Federico Fellini for a year, 2013, full of commemorations and celebrations: the twentieth anniversary of the death of Fellini and the anniversaries of several films: “Vitelloni” and “Agenzia matrimoniale” (60 years), an episode of “Amore in città” and “Otto e mezzo” (50 years), “Amarcord” (40) and “E la nave va” (30).
A kaleidoscope of occasions, that the Municipality of Rimini will celebrate with a series of initiatives such as screenings, concerts, festivals, shows, and exhibitions, which will be part of and promoted with the name of “Fellinianno 2013.”
Until the end of December the book of dreams will be on display to the public in a dedicated room on the ground floor of the City Museum with free admission. The two original albums are kept under a glass and every week a different page will be on display. A copy of both volumes and the digital version of the book are available to the public.
But Rimini is good in winter also for the world’s longest New Year’s celebrations, a whole month of events and great celebrations at the beach and in the town centre on 31st December. From 1 December 2012 to 6 January 2013 all those who choose Rimini for their holidays will find something suiting their tastes. Every corner of the city is transformed into an open-air stage for a month of music, art, shows and concerts with national and international artists. Highlight, as usual, on December 31st with many New Year’s widespread events, from the great concert in Piazzale Fellini, followed by the New Year celebrations in the historic center.
