Rocca San Casciano is a small Medieval town. It was governed by the De’ Calboli Counts and in 1382 it was became part of Repubblica Fiorentina, which opened a juristiction office. In the 18th Century nominated “Regio” by Leopoldo the First of Lorena after the abolition of the Romagna province.

There are several buildings in Premilcuore which testify to the town’ s medieval origins including the Fortress above the town, the noteworthy Palazzo Briccolani, the Oratory of San Lorenzo, the Mogio Oratory and the Parish Church of San Martino.

Premilcuore is also home to the Romagnolo Mountain Wildlife Museum and is a prime tourist destination for nature lovers and those who appreciate the peace of the ancient woods. It is also a departure point for nature walks to the Casentinesi Forest National Park.

Fill your eyes with the magnificent sceneries of the Park where nature is intact and wisely preserved by man and where time still follows the gentle rhythm of nature. This is ideal for mountain biking with marked trails surrounded by a beautiful protected natural environment and after a ride… park your bike and discover the pleasure of the excellent food and wonderful wines with their unmistakable bouquet.
